I embarked on this project in 2019 as an investigation in archives. Each piece is a replica of an original sculpture. Though these things are inanimate, with each purchase they are invited to live some kind of existence as extension of the acquirer's body. The marks of use will be the only indicator of who owned it and how they engaged with it. Some might have an unknown provenance through resale or getting lost, creating new fantastical narratives of a person that never existed and opening conversations about the relationship of buying with owning.
